How to Score 650+ Marks in NEET 2027: Subject-wise Strategy

Each subject in NEET requires a completely different approach for learning. Here is the subject-wise tip for the exam preparation:

Biology

Total marks for NEET biology are 360. If you want to score more than 650+, you are required to target 320–350 in biology. Biology is where your rank is made or broken. Most questions come directly from the NCERT books. Read NCERT 4–5 times, not just once. Pay close attention to diagrams, flowcharts, tables, and examples. Every footnote matters; mark them as important. Practise 100–120 MCQs daily. Connect concepts rather than memorizing in isolation. NEET Biology increasingly tests conceptual linkages between the different topics.

Important Chapters in Biology for NEET 2027

  1. Human Physiology
  2. Genetics & Evolution
  3. Ecology
  4. Biotechnology
  5. Plant Physiology
  6. Cell Biology
  7. Reproduction

Chemistry

Chemistry is the scoring subject for the NEET 2027 exam. Target to score 140 to 160 in NEET Chemistry to achieve your target of 650+.

In physical chemistry: make formula sheets and practise calculations daily. The mole concept, thermodynamics, and equilibrium are the high-weightage chapters.

For organic chemistry: Build reaction flowcharts. Understand mechanisms step-by-step; don’t memorize blindly and focus on colour-coding reactions.

For inorganic chemistry: NCERT is your bible. The questions on coordination compounds, p-block, and chemical bonding come straight from the NCERT lines.

NEET 2027 Chemistry Important Chapters

  1. Mole Concept
  2. Thermodynamics
  3. Chemical Bonding
  4. Organic Reactions
  5. p-Block Elements
  6. Coordination Compounds

Physics

Physics is most students’ fear, but it has the most potential for dramatic improvement with targeted effort. NEET Physics rarely goes beyond the Class 12 board level mathematically. Focus on accuracy, not complexity. Create formula sheets and review them every morning for 10 minutes. Dimensional analysis and unit checking must become second nature. Never miss a derivation; NCERT first, then DC Pandey.

Solve 40–50 Physics MCQs daily. Maintain an error notebook to track every mistake type (silly error, formula confusion, conceptual gap).

Important Chapters for NEET 2027 Physics

  1. Mechanics
  2. Current Electricity
  3. Modern Physics
  4. Optics
  5. Electrostatics
  6. Thermodynamics
  7. Semiconductors

2-Year phase-wise preparation plan

Phase 1

Class 11 helps to build the unshakeable fundamentals in physics, chemistry and biology. Don’t rush with the syllabus. Use NCERT books, make notes, and revise on a regular basis. Start with one mock test per month; chapter-wise mock tests are good at this stage.

Phase 2

Strengthen the class 11 topics and start your class 12 syllabus. Interlink the complex topics of class 12 with the class 11 syllabus. Increase your frequency of mock tests to 2 tests per month to improve your accuracy and speed.

Phase 3

Cover your full syllabus for class 12. Solve mixed questions combining class 11 & 12 concepts. Clear all doubts immediately; carrying forward doubts can kill your momentum in studies. Begin with weekly mock tests.

Phase 4

Full syllabus revision and an intensive test series are the key focus of your preparation. Cover the full syllabus 2–3 times. Attempt 3–4 full-length mock tests per week (target 50+ total mocks by exam day). Analyze every test: log errors, identify weak chapters, and revisit them within 48 hours. Target 600+ in mock tests by January 2027.

Phase 5

It’s time to take the final revision exam, temperament-building. No new topics. Only NCERT revision, PYQ (Previous Year Questions) solving, and full-length timed mock tests. Practice the exact exam-day routine: Biology first (45 min), chemistry (50 min), and physics (45 min). Focus on eliminating silly mistakes. Sleep 7 hours minimum. Say no to social media.

Ideal Daily Timetable

A focused preparation of 7-9 hours daily with a structured timetable is a powerful tool for NEET preparation. The ideal timetable for the NEET preparation is as follows:

Time SlotActivityNotes
6:00 – 9:00 AMBiology Peak cognitive hours. Read line by line and draw diagrams from memory.
9:00 – 9:30 AM
Break + breakfast
No screens. Short walk preferred.
9:30 – 1:00 PMPhysics
Formula sheet review first 10 mins. Then 40–50 MCQs with full solutions.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PMLunch + restAvoid studying immediately after meals
2:00 PM – 5:00 PMChemistry Rotate between all three types of chemistry
5:00 – 5:30 PMBreak + light exercise30-minute walk for the refreshing
5:30 PM  to 7:30 PMMCQs PracticePractice timed questions to increase your speed
7:30 – 9:00 PM
Error log review + weak topic revisionUpdate the mistake notebook. Revisit any chapter where errors exceeded 30%.
9:00 – 10:00 PM
Dinner + light reading
No heavy studying post 9 PM.
10:00 – 11:00 PMQuick revision — flashcards / short notesSpaced repetition. Review what you studied in the morning.
11:00 PMSleep7 hours minimum. Sleep is when memory consolidates.

Conclusion

The NEET 2027 650+ formula in one line: NCERT mastery + daily MCQ discipline + error analysis + 50+ mock examinations = admission to a top government medical college.

The three non-negotiables that set toppers apart from the rest:

Biology comes first, always. It accounts for 50% of your paper. If you can’t score 320 or more in biology, no amount of physics or chemistry brilliance will save your rank. NCERT Biology should be read like a text, four to five times for each line and diagram.

Accuracy over speed. A single incorrect response can result in a net loss of 5 points. A student who attempts 160 questions with 90% accuracy outperforms someone who attempts 180 with 75% accuracy. Create your error notebook from day one.

Consistency beats intensity. A 7-hour focused daily routine over two years always outperforms a 14-hour burnout cycle over six months. NEET is a test of both endurance and intelligence.
