JEE Main 2026 Eligibility
Before applying and preparing for the JEE Main exam, candidates must go through the eligibility criteria to find the application status:
- Passing Year: The candidate who has passed class 12th in 2024, 2025 or is appearing for the board exam in 2026 is eligible to apply for the JEE Main 2026 exam.
- Age: There is no age limit for the JEE Main application form.
- Percentage: Any candidate can fill out the JEE Main 2026 application form, as the 75% rule does not apply to the JEE Main exam; it applies only to the JEE Advanced exam.
- Subjects: The candidate must have passed the intermediate or 10+2 exam in the core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for all programs (B.Tech., B.E., B.Planning, and B.Arch.)
- Nationality: The JEE applications are open to all Indian citizens, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, or foreign nationals.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2026 Application
The list of documents required for the JEE Main 2026 application is as follows:
- Class 10th Marksheet (for date of birth and eligibility proof)
- Class 12th Marksheet (for eligibility and qualifying exam details)
- Category Certificate (if applicable, SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD)
- PwD Certificate (if applicable)
- AADHAR Card (for verification purposes)

How to Apply for the JEE Main 2026 Exam?
The step-by-step application process for the JEE Main 2026 exam is as follows:
- Visit the official website of NTA at: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the “New Registration” and fill out the details, such as
- Candidate’s Name
- Date of Birth
- Mobile Numbers
- Email ID
- Security pin
Set a security pin and password, and note down the application number generated for future reference.
- Fill out the JEE Main application form with all the correct information as per your knowledge. Choose the exam city, the session applying for, and the language carefully.
- Upload a scanned copy of the documents required as per your category:
- Passport-size photograph (10kb- 200kb)
- Signature (4 kb- 30 kb)
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- PwD Certificate (if applicable)

Important Instructions while Filling Out the JEE Main 2026 Application Form
The candidate must read the instructions carefully before filling up the JEE Main 2026 Application Form. Some of the instructions are as follows:
- Please do not upload blurry or dark photographs, as it can lead to rejection of your application.
- Remember to save the file as ‘Photograph’ in JPG/JPEG format.
- Similarly, label the signature file ‘Signature’ and save it in JPG/JPEG format.
- Applicants must save a scanned copy of their Class X or similar certificate/marksheet as ‘Class-X Certificate’ in a PDF file sized between 10 and 300 kb.
- The scanned copy of the PwD/PwBD certificate should be titled ‘Disability Certificate’ and should be a PDF file between 10 and 300 KB.
- A rectification facility for some sections is not available in the application correction window; therefore, you must fill out the form carefully.
- Uploading incorrect documents may result in UFM sanctions.
- To avoid upload issues, make sure your browser is up to date and your internet connection is uninterrupted.
